1 year old - Medium coat - Male

Scout is a 1 year old Peke mix who we rescued from the shelter. He was so happy to be out of the shelter, it only took him a couple hours to warm up to his foster family, and he had zero accidents in the house on his first day! He's quite the affectionate little guy; he likes to sleep on his foster mom curled up right against her face, as close to her as he can get. Scout is outgoing and loves toys. He's looking for a home that wants to walk him regularly, play with him, and keep him entertained. He's great with meeting new people and new dogs alike! He's an explorer, so it's best to keep him to a confined space when you're not around to supervise him. Give him a pile of toys and he'll be just fine. Scout knows how to walk well on leash and loves exploring in the big wide world. He also loves to gaze out the window on car rides.

Scout is comfortable staying home alone for the day which makes him an option for those who work and can't bring their pup along. Give him his bully stick, a Kong filled with peanut butter, bones, chew toys, and a blanket to curl up on, and he's good to go. At night, Scout goes into the crate on his own with his stuffed monkey and a bully stick. He will sleep the whole night without a peep and then wake you up in the morning with little grumbling noises, ready to start the day!

Scout knows how to use the doggy door and will do his business when he's taken outside. He can be a bit of a talkative guy, especially when you're eating and not giving him any, so be prepared for his grumbles. His foster mom is teaching him to sit and wait for his food and he's getting better at it every day. He's a trainable boy!

Scout will need a home that has had a dog in the last 3 years. If there are kids in the home they must be teenagers. Scout needs a confident home as he's presenting a bit insecure but in the right home that is confident, knows dogs it will just be natural.

**Not all of our dogs go to each adoption event. We want to make sure if you are interested in a dog that we have the dog at adoptions but that can only happen if you fill out an application ahead of time and are pre-approved. (Generally this must happen prior to the weekend)

**If you are wanting to submit an application within 24 hours of an event, please print off the application and bring with you as well as submitting it. You may still submit it and if time and volunteers permit, we will contact you. Most applications submitted the weekend of adoptions are not responded to until after the adoption weekend.
