Guinness is an 18 month old GSD mix who is a strong, intelligent boy hungry for some real training. As is typical of his breed, Guinness is a very smart boy... which also means he needs a lot of exercise and mental stimulation. But not to worry: Guinness is a HUGE fan of toys! He can literally play fetch for hours, so get your throwing arm ready! He has already learned basic commands like "sit" and "lie down" and is itching to learn some more. When he's not playing, Guinness is an oversized cuddle bug. He likes to try to crawl into your lap just to be close to you... even though he can't fit, of course! But try telling him that. After a long day of playing, he likes to jump on the couch with you and binge watch your favorite shows. He very sweet and is a big kisser and loves to be with his people, they are his pride and joy.

Guinness needs a owner who strong physically and strict behaviorally. He is being returned to our rescue as his owners are not able to control him on a leash. They feel he needs an owner that has more of a take charge attitude and can be more in control of him while out on a leash. We have had him assessed by a trainer who works with our rescue and we are happy to recommend her to potential adopters who are interested in really working hard on training Guinness to be the best dog he can be.

While with our rescue Guinness was good with other dogs. He often played with other dogs and got along great with them. He was a puppy so lots of puppy energy. He's still very much a puppy who needs to be able to get out all of his energy beyond just a walk or two a day. He would make a great exercise partner; he can go for miles.

Guinness previously lived with a dog savvy cat who was indoor only. (Outdoor cats can often elicit a very different response)

We will only consider a home that has had a dog in the last 3 years. If there are kids they need to be over the age of 10.
