Rat Terrier
4 years old - Short coat - Female

Fawn is a 4 year old Rat Terrier who we rescued from the shelter. When we came in to meet Fawn, she was huddled up with her kennel-mate on their bed and looked up at us with big, scared eyes, but as soon as we entered, she let us pet her and pick her up. In fact, once you pick her up to cuddle, she may not want to be put down! Fawn is a total snuggler and cuddler. She's a great little lap dog. She's a tiny girl who probably weighs less than 5 lbs and could stand to put a bit more meat on her bones. Her fosters are working on fattening her up! Looking for a dog who can fit in your bag and go everywhere with you? Fawn would be happy to sit quietly and chill in a small, comfy carrier-bag.

Fawn gets along well with the other dogs in her foster home and she's met a host of visiting dogs. She has a very go-with-the-flow personality which may not be completely common for all little Rat Terriers. But our girl is so docile, sweet, loving and she extends that to the four legged and the two legged. She easily could be a purse dog, office dog, condo dog or someone's one and only dog. She's so versatile.

Fawn gets along well with the dog savvy cat in her home as well. Yeah, the cat is like 3 times the size of her but truthfully Fawn says, "Size doesn't matter...It's all about the size of the heart..." Fawn is crate trained. She is a non-barker making her ideal to go to places where she shouldn't be "heard" or usually seen for that matter...

Fawn is only an option for a home that has had a dog in the last 3 years. Because of her petite size, children in the home must be 10 and up.

**Not all of our dogs go to each adoption event. We want to make sure if you are interested in a dog that we have the dog at adoptions but that can only happen if you fill out an application ahead of time and are pre-approved. (Generally this must happen prior to the weekend)

**If you are wanting to submit an application within 24 hours of an event, please print off the application and bring with you as well as submitting it. You may still submit it and if time and volunteers permit, we will contact you. Most applications submitted the weekend of adoptions are not responded to until after the adoption weekend.
